Born in Dearborn, MI June 29, 1962

Born June 29th, 1962 - Robert Shawn Staffig in Dearborn, MI / Adopted at age 6 and grew up in the thumb area of Michigan.
Found biological family from his mothers side in April 1984, still keeps contact with his Grandmother in Florida and an Aunts& Godmother in the Detroit area of MI.
July 4th of 2010 Rob located his biological brother Don David in the Flint, MI area. Rob continues to search for his biological father said to be Robert William Evans but may also be known as Shawn Reagan.
In 2001 Rob legally changed name to Rob Staffig-Piotter to honor both his adoptive and biological families.
Rob uses "Rob Staffig" as his on stage performance name.
Rob loved music as long as he can remember.
He began playing guitar at 16 years old after finding an old Sears Silvertone up in the attic.
He bought new strings, picks, a strap and John Denver's Greatest Hits music book. Determined to learn he literally played the daylights out of the song Country Roads!
Growing up in the late 70's Rob's influences were from the ballad and story tellers, John Denver, Bobby Goldsboro & Mac Davis.
At the end of the 70's and into the 80's Michigan rocker Bob Seger began to influnece Rob's writing. Neil Diamond, Jackson Browne, Rick Springfield and John Mellencamp also had influence which in turn changed his style into the harder edge County Rock sound of Rob Staffig's music today. With the ending of the 70's & the beginning of a new decade, Rob commpeted in and won various talent and varity shows around his home area in MI. He wrote his first song in July of 1980 titled "I Believe In You", since then Rob has written 93 original songs. Rob left MI in April of 1982 and ended up starting a new life in Casper, WY. He competed in talent contests in Casper, winning twice at the City Level of the True Value Country Showdowns in 1986 and 1991.
Rob began his Professional Career as a Performer in 1991. After trying to get a band together and not having much luck, he struck out on his own, put together a single act
and has been performing throughout WY, SD, MT & CO for the past 18 years.
In 1996 Rob Staffig was the opening act for Country Music Star "David Lee Murphy" at the Everglades Seafood Festival in Everglades City, FL.
In 1997 Rob was invited back to the festival where he opened for Country Music Star "David Ball". The "Bellamy Brothers" were also on stage that weekend. Check out the:... ~Concert Photos Link~
In 1992 Rob released a pilot demo of his song "I Need A Vacation". The song was sent to Music Row Magazine by local am radio station KVOC in August 1992
where it received an honorable mention in the Critics Corner with Joe Diffe's song Next Thing Smokin'
Rob Staffig released his latest CD titled "Drive-In Nights" in September of 2001.

Rob Staffig is currently working his writing talents into a novel he has titled "Fate Awaits" based on his amazing quest and journey to find his biological family.

Rob resides in Casper, WY with his wife Vivian, daughters Jennifer & Elise and sons, Tyler & Nathan.
